Looking for a free Kindle Amazon offer? Kindle+—the new name for Kindle Unlimited—offers eligible readers an introductory trial at £0. Check Amazon’s sign-up page for your account’s offer, its length and the date paid membership starts.

This is an offer for the reading subscription. It does not include a free Kindle e-reader, and the membership is not permanently free.

Eligible accounts only. Confirm the £0 introductory price and trial length at checkout. Normally £9.49/month afterwards; renews automatically unless cancelled. Your sign-up terms apply.

Kindle Unlimited is now Kindle+

Amazon confirmed the name change in its UK guide updated on 22 October 2026. Kindle+ gives members access to millions of eBooks, alongside selected audiobooks and magazines. You may still see “Kindle Unlimited” in older links or references.

What does the £0 offer include?

An eligible introductory offer lets you try the subscription catalogue without a membership charge during the period shown at sign-up. Amazon’s affiliate information describes a standard 30-day trial, but introductory promotions can be personalised. Check the exact duration displayed to you rather than assuming every account receives the same deal.

The usual UK monthly subscription is £9.49 after the introductory period. A valid payment method is required, and paid renewal is automatic unless you turn it off before the next billing date.

How to check your free Kindle Amazon offer

  1. Open the offer using the affiliate button on this page.
  2. Sign in to the Amazon account you want to read with.
  3. Confirm that the introductory price is £0 and note how long it lasts.
  4. Check the renewal amount, billing date and payment method before confirming.
  5. Browse included titles and set a reminder before the first payment is due.

If your account displays a paid promotion instead, that is a different offer. Do not complete sign-up expecting a free trial unless the checkout explicitly confirms it.

Do you need to buy a Kindle?

No. You can use the free Kindle app on a compatible phone, tablet or computer, as well as read on a Kindle device. Try the device you already own before spending money on new hardware.

Borrowing books: what to know

You can borrow up to 20 included titles at a time. Return a selection when you want to borrow another. The catalogue changes, and not every book sold on Amazon is included: look for the Kindle+ badge before choosing a title.

The subscription provides borrowing access, rather than permanent ownership of its books. When membership ends, access to borrowed subscription titles ends too. Buying a book separately is a different transaction.

How to decide whether it saves you money

How to cancel Kindle+ before renewal

Open Amazon’s Your Memberships & Subscriptions or Kindle+ membership management page, select the cancellation option and follow the steps to turn off renewal. Check the confirmation and membership end date.

Amazon’s terms say you keep subscription access until the current membership period ends. Cancel before renewal to avoid the next subscription payment. Deleting the Kindle app does not cancel the membership.

Free Kindle Amazon offer: common questions

Does £0 mean I get a free Kindle device?

No. This page covers an introductory Kindle+ reading subscription, not a hardware giveaway.

Is Kindle+ the same as Kindle Unlimited?

Yes. Kindle+ is the new name for Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Can returning customers claim the free offer?

Eligibility is account-specific. Sign in to see the offer Amazon makes available; previous membership does not guarantee another trial.

Are all Amazon Kindle books free with Kindle+?

No. Only participating titles are included. Check the subscription badge and borrowing option before proceeding.

Can I keep borrowed books after cancelling?

You can use them until your membership period ends. They do not become permanent purchases through the trial.
