The Amazon Kids+ one-month free-trial offer gives eligible families a chance to explore children’s digital content before paying for a subscription. Use the trial to check whether the selection works for your child and your devices, then decide whether to continue before renewal.
Kids+ was previously known as Fire for Kids Unlimited. It is the children’s content subscription linked from this offer, rather than a general Amazon Prime trial.

What is Amazon Kids+?
Amazon Kids+ is a digital subscription designed for children aged 3–12. Depending on the device, its catalogue includes books, videos, educational apps, games and child-friendly Alexa experiences. Amazon describes the included Kids+ content as ad-free.
The catalogue and available features vary by device and location. Check the titles and formats supported on your own device before joining, especially if you want a particular book, programme or game.
How the one-month trial works
| Introductory offer | One month free, where offered to your account |
|---|---|
| Eligibility | Set by Amazon; previous membership or trial use may affect the offer |
| After the trial | Automatic paid renewal at the rate shown when you join |
| Cancellation | Manage through Amazon’s subscription settings or Parent Dashboard website |
The trial is temporary access to a subscription service. It does not mean the included content becomes yours to keep permanently.
What does Kids+ cost afterwards?
Check the renewal amount on your own Amazon offer screen. Pricing can differ by plan, Prime membership and promotion. Amazon’s indexed UK pages showed conflicting prices when this guide was prepared, so we are not presenting a single monthly price as guaranteed.
Before confirming, note the first payment date, the amount, and whether you have selected monthly or annual billing. A trial shown on another website or account does not guarantee the same offer for you.
How to try Kids+ for free

- Check eligibility. Make sure Amazon displays one month free for that account.
- Review the subscription. Check the renewal price, billing frequency, payment details and compatible devices.
- Set up a child profile. Choose age settings and review the available parental controls.
- Set a renewal reminder. Give yourself time to decide whether the subscription earns its place in your family budget.

Amazon Kids and Kids+: what is the difference?
Amazon Kids provides the child-profile experience and parental controls on compatible devices. Kids+ adds a paid catalogue of children’s content. You do not need to assume a Kids+ subscription is required just to use every basic parental-control feature.
Use the Parent Dashboard to review your child’s experience and available controls. Settings and features depend on the device; spend a few minutes checking them together before handing it over.
Check what you already have before paying
- Look for an included subscription. If you bought a Kids Edition device, check whether it already came with Kids+ access and when that period ends.
- Try your existing device first. Confirm compatibility rather than buying a new tablet just for a free trial.
- Compare with free options. Local library books and digital borrowing may cover some of the same needs.
- Review actual use. At the end of the month, ask which content your child used and whether you would pay the renewal price for it.
- Avoid overlapping subscriptions. Check whether other services you already pay for provide enough suitable content.
How to cancel Amazon Kids+
On Amazon’s website, go to Your Memberships & Subscriptions, find Kids+ and choose Cancel My Subscription. Follow the prompts until cancellation is confirmed.
Alternatively, use the Parent Dashboard website: choose More → Amazon Kids+ Subscription → Cancel Subscription. Amazon’s help page says cancellation is not available through the Parent Dashboard mobile app.
Check the confirmation for the date access ends, and cancel before renewal if you do not want to pay. Deleting an app or removing a child profile is not a substitute for cancelling the subscription.
Frequently asked questions
Is Kids+ included with Prime?
Kids+ is a separate subscription. Prime members may receive a different price, but Prime alone does not mean an ongoing Kids+ subscription is free.
Can I use Kids+ without buying a Fire tablet?
Kids+ is available on a range of compatible Amazon and mobile devices. Check the current compatibility list and content support for your device before signing up.
Can I get a second free month?
Do not assume you qualify again. Amazon decides eligibility and shows the available offer when you sign in.
Is the trial suitable for every age?
The service is designed for ages 3–12. Parents should choose content and settings that suit their individual child.
